Al Hassan Group holds "Talent Appreciation" program (9 October 2011)

Al Hassan Group is known for caring and nurturing its in-house talent. It is only then that one can see innovation and outstanding results from employees. At Al Hassan, we believe in respecting and trusting our employees and hence lay great emphasis on "Talent Appreciation".

A "Talent Appreciation" Program was recently held to formally reward : Al Hassan employees’ children for meritorious academic performance, quiz winners of in-house Newsletter - "Al Multaqa" and employees for their sports talent.

The Program was graced by Mr. Hassan bin Ali Salman - Chairman, Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman -Managing Director, Eng. Talal Al Assaad, CEO - Manufacturing & Trading, and Mr. Peter Hall, CEO - Al Hassan Engineering Co. SAOG. In addition, a number of members from senior management of Al Hassan Group were also present.

The Program started with Mr. Shahzad Sadan, GM - Organization Development giving an overview of the various "Talent Appreciation" initiatives the Group has so far undertaken.

In order to appreciate the employees’ children’s excellent performance in academics, the Group rewarded and recognised them through "Children Merit Award" comprising certificates, cash awards and Golden Merit Medals. Around fifty children pursuing Primary level to Post-graduate studies were given the merit award.

The Al Hassan Employee Newsletter - "Al Multaqa" has emerged as a strong connect between employees and the management. It has completed one year since its launch and four editions have been published so far. It is also a creative outlet not only for employees but also for their families. The winners of the quiz published in last two editions of Al Multaqa were given certificates and cash awards.

A short film was also played on the occasion which highlighted how we as adults and children can contribute to making the earth a better place to live in future.

Amongst many other activities, a spot quiz was held for the children participating in the program, who showed great enthusiasm in it and were given cash awards. Children were also awarded with gifts for their co-curricular and extra curricular achievements.

As is often said "A healthy mind in a healthy body", accordingly Al Hassan Group lays great emphasis on nurturing the sports talent of its employees. Team & individual winners from in-house contests of Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Carrom, Table tennis and Darts were awarded with trophies and certificates. The Group also sponsors its teams under the aegis of Al Hassan Social Club to participate in external tournaments. Al Hassan Table tennis and basketball teams who have participated in PDO tournaments and the Al Hassan cricket team, runners-up in Division E of the Oman Cricket Club (OCC) tournament were also honoured.

The Program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Feras Mohamed Al Lawati, Head - Administration & Omanization.
