Rewards winning entries for the ‘Ideas for Improvement’ suggestion scheme

The Al Hassan Group of Companies recently organized its annual Talent Appreciation awards ceremony to recognize the meritorious academic performance of the children of its employees, winners of the Al Multaqa quiz competition and the winning entries for the 'Ideas for Improvement' suggestion scheme.

The event was graced by Mr. Hassan bin Ali Salman - Chairman, Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman -Managing Director, Mr. Luc Van Dingenen, CEO - Manufacturing & Trading, and Mr. Peter Hall, CEO - Al Hassan Engineering Co. SAOG. In addition, members from senior management of Al Hassan Group were also present.

Employee engagement is a vital element of a successful and productive workplace and at Al Hassan it is given great importance. The Group is known for nurturing its in-house Talent as it is only then that one can see innovation and outstanding results from employees. Over a period of time a number of initiatives have been developed and implemented under the employee engagement programme and Talent Appreciation awards are an important part of the same.

The programme started with Mr. Shahzad Sadan, GM - Organization Development giving an overview of the various "Talent Appreciation" initiatives the Group has undertaken and this was followed by showcasing a short film on how we can play an important role in shaping young minds.

In order to appreciate the employees’ children’s outstanding performance in academics, the Group rewarded and recognized them through “Children’s Merit Award”. The children were presented with merit certificates, cash awards and medals. Around 40 children from Primary to Post-graduate levels were recognized.

On the occasion, Mr. Hassan bin Ali Salman - Chairman of the Group said, "At Al Hassan we underline our commitment to our employees through various initiatives and one of them is Talent Appreciation awards. Through this programme, we recognize achievements of employees' children, who are our extended family and those employees, who have contributed through their ideas for organizational improvement. We have always encouraged talent in all its forms and realize that recognition goes a long way in nurturing them"

This emphasis on building positive relationships is the focus of our organization’s employee engagement programme under which we conduct various activities throughout the year." Said Mr. Shahzad Sadan, GM - Organization Development.

It’s been over two years that 'Al Multaqa', the Al Hassan Employee Newsletter has been launched and with every issue the magazine has emerged as a strong connect between the employees and the organization. It is not just meant to be a communication bridge, but also a creative outlet for employees who showcase their talent through this medium.

Amongst many other activities, a spot quiz was held for the children participating in the program, who participated with great enthusiasm.
