Al Hassan Group felicitates "Suggestion Scheme" Awardees (16 May 09)

Al Hassan Group of Companies has always believed that People are its most important asset and employee involvement is a powerful and productive tool in improving work quality, work processes and reducing costs. With this principle in mind, Al Hassan Group through its Human Resources Department has launched a Staff Suggestion Scheme. Mr Sanjay Khandagle, Manager - Talent Management was entrusted with the task of spearheading the Suggestion Scheme. The Scheme is a modern tool to encourage staff to give their suggestions and ideas which can be tapped for gainful use. The Group in turn rewards the winners.

The first phase of the Suggestion Scheme was launched in March. 141 employees gave 245 suggestions in various areas including cost savings, revenue generation, employee welfare, customer service, process improvements, health, safety and environment, work culture, brand building, etc. The scheme was made scientific and transparent by clearly specifying the parameters for evaluation and a committee comprising of cross functional professionals evaluated all the suggestions. Employees were free to provide suggestion in a language of their choice.

In order to felicitate the employees and present the awards to winning entries in the Suggestion Scheme competition, a gala function was organized on May 11, 2009. The award categories were Gold, Silver, Bronze, Cash Award and Commendation Certificates. The function was attended by Hassan Ali Salman, Chairman of Al Hassan Group, Maqbool Ali Salman, Managing Director, senior management team and employees of the company.

In his speech, Mr. Hassan Ali Salman stressed the importance of continuing the drive towards achieving excellence which eventually attains positive results for the company. Mr. Hassan Ali Salman expressed appreciation and congratulated the winners.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman, lavishly praised the employees for the tremendous success of the scheme, stating, "We knew all our employees are capable of bringing about some improvement in their work. It has been established now. These ideas make our processes more efficient and in the long run, benefit Al Hassan Group and employees alike."
