Al Hassan Engineering gets CA&A Certificate from OPAL (07 Jun 2008)

Al Hassan Engineering Company SAOG (AHEC), has been awarded "COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT & ASSURANCE SYSTEM" (CA&A) certificate by OPAL (Oman Society for Petroleum Services) for having in place sound business practices. The award ceremony was attended by AHEC's senior staff and OPAL representatives.

In this regard, Mr. Mohammed Khamis Al Khabori, GM – HR & Administration, Al Hassan Group of Companies, stated that AHEC will benefit as CA&A can be used as a tool to determine the overall competency of its workforce. He further reiterated that the certification process gave a unique opportunity to AHEC management to determine, department by department, existing skill levels and therefore any skill gaps that exist and then to design appropriate methods of plugging those gaps by either specialist training or in-house on-the-job development. He further added that the commitment of AHEC to CA&A demonstrates that it cares for its employees’ career development.

AHEC has been awarded with two more prestigious certificates by OPAL. The first certificate is, HSE - MS (Health, Safety, Environment - Management System) valid until 1st July 2009, which has been issued to AHEC for having an effective HSE Management System in the organization while the second certificate is, CVC (Compliance Verification Certificate), valid until 2nd April 2009. CVC has been issued to AHEC for having in place effective employment practices as per OPAL standards and this certificate is issued after a vigorous verification process by them.

Encouraged by a string of successes in the Sultanate of Oman, AHEC has established its foothold in UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), where it has been successfully pre-qualified with leading clients in public for contracting assignments.
