This is Al Hassan Group's second MTP batch after the successful completion of the first batch wherein 17 Omanis were absorbed into the Group after a rigorous 3 month training program from a batch of 25 inducted in Jan. 2010. All of the Al Hassan Group Companies including Al Hassan Engineering Co. SAOG (AHEC), Al Hassan Electricals Co. LLC, Al Hassan Switchgear Manufacturing Co. LLC will participate in the MTP. His Excellency Hamed Khamis Al Amri in his speech appreciated the unique initiative of Al Hassan Group, as a step on the right track to make Omanization in Private Sector as a qualitative process linked with acquainting skill, competence and experience for employees in their specialization. He also congratulated the Omani management trainees on their selection in this prestigious management training programme based on their related capabilities and excellence in their specializations and encouraged them to acquire skill through the actual on the job training and to be a good role model in terms of discipline, compliance, performance and wished them all great success. Mr. Salman added: "The initiative provides a unique opportunity for Omani graduates who aspire to build a long-term career in Projects, Procurement, Quality, HSE and operations to join Al Hassan on a structured development programme. We are committed to developing our pool of Omani talent. With a constant flow of graduates to Al Hassan, we will be able to build and sustain a strong talent base and support His Majesty’s 2020 Vision of transforming Oman into a knowledge-based economy." Fresh Omani graduates having good communication skills, a winning attitude and good analytical capabilities are eligible for the training programme. The Al Hassan MTP will not only offer Omani graduate recruits comprehensive training but would also encourage open minds, original thinking, diversity and ambition – the key attributes to future leaders. The program is conceptualized and designed on the basis of the Coaching and mentoring model. The Heads of Departments are Coaches to the Trainees and Mentors are the immediate Managers. The Buddy Coaches are the Senior Omani Engineers who ensure their learning and well being. All the trainees are to be given a cross functional experience by providing them structured training programme and rotating them on all the ongoing project sites and manufacturing setups of the Group. Al Hassan Group of Companies, Oman’s leading Business Group with diversified activities in Contracting, Manufacturing and Trading has launched second batch of the Management Training Programme (MTP) for young Omani graduates with the induction of 20 engineering graduates at Hotel Crown Plaza on 11 August 2010. The occasion was graced by His Excellency Hamed Khamis Al Amri, Undersecretary for Technological Education & Vocational Training at Ministry of Manpower who inaugurated the Program in presence of senior management of Al Hassan Group including Chairman – Hassan bin Ali Salman, MD – Maqbool Ali Salman, CEO-AHEC- Mr. Peter Hall and General Managers of various SBUs and Support Services.
Commenting on the launch of the second batch of MTP, Hassan bin Ali Salman, Chairman, Al Hassan Group, said: “The aim of the MTP is to recruit and retain the best and brightest young Omani talent. The Al Hassan MTP has been created to develop the leaders of tomorrow and to teach aspiring youngsters the fundamental principles of working in the industry. He added that the objective of the Al Hassan MTP was not to fill any quota but to build a leadership pipeline for tomorrow.
