Al Hassan Group to offer 300 new job opportunities for nationals (15 March 2011)

Al Hassan Group of Companies, Oman’s leading Business Group with diversified activities in Contracting, Manufacturing and Trading has announced with the kind cooperation of Ministry of Manpower it will offer 300 new job opportunities for Omani nationals across its entire group supporting the launch of His Majesty’s latest initiative to provide jobs for 50,000 Omanis in public and private organisations across the Sultanate.

Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman (pictured), Managing Director, Al Hassan Group said: "We are totally committed to wholeheartedly supporting His Majesty in his newest initiative to provide 50,000 Omanis with jobs across a number of sectors within our economy. As Oman continues to grow and develop in line with the Vision 2020, the Al Hassan Group will do everything it can to support talented Omanis by giving them the opportunity to develop the skills they need in order to build strong careers for themselves".

He added, "Al Hassan Group is offering these new 300 employment opportunities across its Group companies including Al Hassan Engineering Co. SAOG, Al Hassan Electricals Co. LLC and Al Hassan Switchgear Manufacturing Co. LLC.

The Group views Omanisation as one of its key priorities and it has won many accolades including the coveted Green Card from the Ministry of Manpower and Compliance Verification Certificate of OPAL.

The Group strives to develop not only the basic skills of locals but also to cultivate leadership in Omanis at all levels. Every year, a number of batches of Omani Management Trainee Programs (OMTP) are conducted where in at least 25 engineers and Diploma holders are taken and trained in their respective functions.

Yet another initiative taken by the Group is the formation of Technical Centre. A structured Mentoring and Coaching Programme is put in place to ensure that the new Omani recruits are developed so as to serve the critical positions in the Group. A succession plan is being put in place so that the Omanis have a career path and they stay, serve and grow in the Group.
