Al Hassan staff pitch in for 'Together for a Happier Eid' (02 Sep 09)

The Al Hassan Group of Companies has extended a strong hand of support to the BankMuscat-Omantel social initiative 'Together for a Happier Eid' with Hassan bin Ali Salman, chairman, Al Hassan Group of Companies, launching the charity drive at the Group headquarters. The ceremony was attended by senior officials of BankMuscat and Omantel, besides senior management of Al Hassan Group.

Salman, Chairman, Al Hassan Group of Companies, said: "This is an excellent charity initiative which will bring happiness to needy people in Oman. The programme has succeeded in generating support to weaker sections of society. Even though there are ongoing charity programmes in Oman, many people are not aware of it. I would like to thank BankMuscat and Omantel for launching this initiative which has helped in raising awareness on one’s social responsibilities."

Salman added: "Everyone has a responsibility to come forward and meet the requirements of needy people among us who are part of us. We are one family. The eyes of underprivileged people are on the community. They are pinning their hopes on us. When someone looks at us with great expectation, we have a responsibility to act as fast as possible and this responsibility is all the more compelling during the holy month of Ramadan. Children are the future of our nation and we have to ensure their happiness. The support will also encourage parents to motivate children to do their best to come up in life and become strong assets for the nation."

Hassan bin Ali Salman said: "The entire staff of Al Hassan Group of Companies has strongly backed this initiative to bring smiles on the faces of less privileged children. We are greatly encouraged by this reflection of strong social responsibility by Al Hassan family. We do hope that this will motivate others to complement the charity initiative and make it a grand success."

Hassan bin Ali Salman added: "Al Hassan is an active contributor and participant in all major charity initiatives. We believe that as an Omani company we should take a major role in serving the community."

The 'Together for a Happier Eid' donation campaign is conceived as a simple process, enabling everyone to participate without any financial burden. Supervised by the Ministry of Social Development, the Ramadan initiative provides the platform as well as tools to collect and disburse funds to all deserving beneficiaries.
