Al Hassan Group organises blood donation camp (26 April 2012)

As a service to the community, Al Hassan Group organised a Blood Donation Camp in association with the Directorate General of Health Affairs, Ministry of Health (MoH) at Al Hassan Corporate Office at Wadi Kabir as well as Fabrication and Plant Workshop at Ghala on April 24 and April 25, 2012.

Al Hassan's staff, management and workers came forward and enthusiastically participated in this noble cause.

Overall 74 employees at both the locations were permitted to donate the blood after undergoing medical checkup by the MoH Medical Officer. Apart from collection of blood, the camp also increased awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation to a large number of people.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr Maqbool Ali Salman, Managing Director, Al Hassan Group said, “Donating blood is sacred and it is our duty to society in encouraging such initiatives which go a long way in saving many lives and bringing smiles to the near and dear of those whose life is saved. Given the regular need for blood at hospitals and blood banks across Oman, it is essential to organise such Blood Donation Camps and help the authorities in Oman to meet the requirement of safe blood to handle emergency situations. We will continue to support such noble causes in the future."

He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Health and the blood donors in making this camp a great success.

Al Hassan Group has been at the forefront of several such corporate social responsibility initiatives in the recent past including safety awareness campaigns, meals for low income students, plantation of trees in schools, beach cleaning and contribution in cash and kind to various charities.
