Aromatics Project

Customer: Aromatics Oman LLC/ GS Engineering & Construction, Korea
Location: Sohar Industrial Area, Oman
Year of Award: 2007

Project Synopsis: A World Class Greenfield Petrochemical Plant, planned to utilize the product from Sohar Refinery to produce over 1 Million Tonnes of Para-Xylene and Benzene per year. This is the First Aromatics Production Complex and a milestone in the strategic development of Oman.

Project Scope: Civil Works for Utility, Flare and Tankage Area. Mechanical Works comprising of Structural Erection, Mechanical Equipment Erection and Piping for Utility and Flare Area. Painting Works for Reformer and Utility Area

Achievement: Biggest Single Concrete Pour of 2600 cubic meters for underground tank. Completed the Project ahead of schedule with 10.2 million LTI free man-hours

Methanol Project

Customer: Salalah Methanol Company LLC/ GS Engineering & Construction, Korea
Location: Salalah, Oman
Year of Award: 2007

Project Synopsis: First Methanol Plant in the Sultanate of Oman, the project is slated for commissioning by end of 2009

Project Scope: Complete Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Piping Works for the Utilities & Offsites for the project

Achievements: Completed the Project ahead of schedule with 6.5 million LTI free man-hours. Received the client’s (GS E&C) special appreciation award.

Polypropylene Project

Customer: Oman Polypropylene LLC / GS Engineering & Construction, Korea
Location: Sohar Industrial Area, Oman
Year of Award: 2005

Project Synopsis: First ever Petrochemical Plant in Oman producing 340000 MT of International Grade Polypropylene per year

Project Scope: Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Instrumentation works for the process plant

Achievements: Biggest Single Concrete Pour in a downstream project in Oman (Slab thickness 1200 mm at a height of 27 m)
Heavy Equipment Erection at a height of 43 m using 1200 T Crane - the first of its kind in Oman
